Our Philosophy

It has also taking into consideration the main stream schooling pattern. It empowers you to creates nurturing and enriching learning experience. Here’s a closer look at the philosophy that inspires our curriculum.

Inspired By The Reggio Emilia Philosophy

Our curriculum is deeply inspired by Reggio Emilia philosophy which is based upon the following set of principles:

.Children must have some control over the direction of their learning;

.Children must be able to learn through experiences of touching, moving, listening, and observing;

.Children have a relationship with other children and with material items in the world that they must be allowed to explore;

.Children must have endless ways and opportunities to express themselves.

How This Informs Our Curriculum

At Ikigai we believe that learning is not a “one size fits all,” but rather, children are born with unique approaches to learning. Therefore, the curriculum needs to be flexible and inclusive of various learning styles. Not only do we keep this at the forefront of our minds when creating curriculum, but we also provide abundant guidance and support for you, so you, too, have the necessary tools to recognize and expand upon those everyday teachable and meaningful moments. Our curriculum emphasizes:

Unstrucured, Child-Led Play

Unstructured, child-led play has a profound impact on children’s intellectual, emotional, physical, communicative, and social development. Through play, children follow their interests, make choices, and express themselves, laying the groundwork for creativity, problem-solving, and self- confidence.

Open-Ended Materials

We place a strong emphasis on the use of open-ended materials, such as building blocks, art supplies, and natural elements. These materials offer limitless possibilities for creativity and imagination, inspiring children to think divergently and embrace their unique approaches to learning.

Unstrucured, Child-Led Play

Repetition of experiences is crucial for building strong neural connections, consolidating learning, and enhancing memory recollection. Revisiting activities and experiences allows children to deepen their mastery and understanding while approaching experiences from different angles.
